Kicking The Fantasy Football Season Off Right!
by Scott Maxwell
http://www.playwinningfantasyfootball.com

There comes a time every summer when a prospective
fantasy owner must make one of the most important
decisions of the upcoming fantasy football season.

This decision will inevitably have a profound effect on
how the season develops and how much advantage the owner
has in crushing the competition in the league.

You know as well as I do, having any sort of advantage
in the fantasy game can go a long way towards gaining
much needed wins.

Owners simply fail to realize that EVERY decision made
over the course of the fantasy football season can have a
direct impact on the outcome of the season. A HUGE Impact!

They fail to realize that EVERY decision matters!

The decision I'm referring to is which league or leagues
to join each season.

Pick the WRONG league and you're throwing away your
money before the season even starts. You won't have the
edge required to squeeze out other teams.

Pick the RIGHT league and you already have an an edge over
the competition. One you can build on as you go into
the draft and into the regular season.

It's kind of like going to a casino and choosing between
betting on craps or roulette.

If you've ever been to a casino, I'm sure you've noticed
that the craps tables draw way more gamblers than the
roulette tables. One reason is because the craps tables
have much better odds than the roulette tables.

If you play craps, you'll have a better advantage
and a much better chance to win over time than with
roulette.

That's simply one reason the craps tables are typically so
crowded. Of course, another reason has to do with craps
being a little more exciting.

Craps players and Expert Fantasy Football players are
similar in that they both know where the best odds lie.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS

Many players aren't selective about which league they
choose to play in. Typically, they'll play in the leagues
in which their friends or family are playing.

While this is perfectly fine and I recommend doing so at
the right price, these often aren't the leagues that offer
you the best opportunity to succeed.

The major decisions you will need to make in Joining the
Right League are:

How the League Scores ~ Scoring System

How the Starters are Configured ~ Roster Configuration

How the League Drafts ~ Drafting Method

How the Teams Compete ~ Competitive Style of Play

How Many Players are Kept ~ League Structure

A lot of decisions, but all are important and each one can
directly impact how much advantage you can get in the
league.

SECRETS IN GAINING AN ADVANTAGE

I have years of experience getting into leagues where I
know I can take advantage of other na~ve owners. The great
thing is, they don't even know that I have an advantage!

Most owners - probably close to 90% - have no idea what
it really takes to win at the game of fantasy football.
They go about each season the same way year after year
and they get the exact same result. . .
MEDIOCRITY!

You, however, will not be making the same mistakes
because this is the year you start playing to win.
This is the year you play to crush the competition.

SECRET #1 - THE MORE COMPLEX THE SCORING SYSTEM,
THE BETTER POSITION YOU'RE IN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE
OF THE COMPETITION.

Now, this may seem a little weird given that complex
scoring systems can often be a pain in the butt to track.

But the secret's true!

The more complex the system, the more points typically
scored throughout the season. The more points you score
throughout the season, the more disparity created between
the elite NFL players and the rest in the league.

Combination Scoring is the best example of a complex
scoring system because it combines metrics from all
the scoring systems (Basic, Performance, Big Play, etc).

Literally ANY offensive play has the ability to generate
fantasy points!

As a result, projecting player performance in pre-season
proves to be dramatically more challenging. The weaker
owners in the league fail to do the homework necessary to
fit the scoring system to the league. BIG MISTAKE!

Expert owners like to feed on these weaker owners!

SECRET #2 - THE MORE PLAYERS YOU CAN "KEEP" FROM
SEASON TO SEASON, THE BETTER ADVANTAGE YOU'LL HAVE.

I don't know about you, but I hate when I have to throw
away a great team and re-draft a whole new team every
year.

Starting over every season means that you once again have
to fill an entire roster and take your chances on a new
draft.

The main reason why I like Keeper leagues is that if you
put the proper preparation in prior to the draft, then
you'll be picking up higher quality players each year and
have the opportunity to retain the higher quality players
over time.

SECRET #3 - AUCTION DRAFTS ARE HANDS-DOWN THE BEST
DRAFTING METHODS.

For one, Auctions promote FAIRNESS by offering a free
market system where any player is available at the highest
price.

If you want a player, you can have him. . .but you must
pay the price!

Second, Auctions ELIMINATE LONG WAITS between picks.
It's these long waits that can lead to prolonged boredom
in the Serpentine draft. In Auctions, you're virtually
involved in almost every pick made. PURE EXCITEMENT!

Other qualities of the Auction draft:

Rewarding strategic thinking

Offering ACTION and STIMULATION,

Providing a truly memorable and satisfying
experience.

Try an Auction Draft this season and you'll never want
to go back. Trust me!
